We are excited to welcome everyone to the 2020-2021 Ringette Season! This season will see some changes that are different than previous seasons as we are navigating the COVID situation in BC. The links below include the Return to Ringette Guidelines, The Shuswap Ringette COVID Safety plan as well as the Shaw Centre Return to activity Safety Plan to help inform you of the new guidelines under COVID.

Important COVID-19 Information:

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Spectators are not permitted during game play

The season will begin the week of September 14th. If all goes to plan we will begin the season in Progression 2.

Ringette Progression 2 allows for:
  • Modified contact drills and activities to be introduced at U12 and above
  • U10 and below may begin individual skill and practice sessions in small groups
  • Physical distancing is enforced
  • Focus is Skills & Drills
  • Focus of activity remains community-based, limited travel permitted and
  • Game play is not permitted and activities are to remain within the community
  • There is no team formation or player evaluation in this progression-the goal is to get players back on the ice and active

What this will look like and what you can expect:
  • Players will be grouped into cohorts of 10
  • Cohorts will be comprised of players from all one age group when possible or two age groups if necessary
  • Players will need to attend all sessions in this same cohort of 10 to minimize contact
  • Players can expect 1-2 skills sessions per week
  • Each group of 10 will have two on ice coaches
  • Players will receive lots of skill development and individual coaching

**We hope to see the move to Progression 3 (which includes game play and regional competition) later in the fall. As soon as we are approved to move to Progression 3, we will complete player evaluations and form teams. Players in U10 & above can then expect to join a league schedule of games in addition to a weekly team practice, consistent with previous years. Fundamentals will begin games with the neighbouring association when the coaches determine they are ready and when we have entered Progression 3.
